  • Poem in Your Pocket Day

In celebration of Poem in Your Pocket Day, NAYB student, Amanda McGreal, wrote this poem about ballet.

  • Ballet

    When I dance,
    I feel alive.
    Jumping in the air,
    like a butterfly.

    Spinning around,
    and pointing my toe,
    jumping high in the air,
As high as I can go.

    The lights on the stage,
    All pointing at me,
    Down into a split,
    The crowd waiting to see.

As I do my final jump,
    I am proud inside.
    Going off the stage,
    Doing my final glide.

    I love ballet,
    I do it for fun.
    But I must say good’bye,
    For the poem, is done.
